I’ve always been moved by the tale of an Andalusian king and his wife. One winter day in Córdoba, as rare snowflakes fell, the wife wept at her window, lamenting that nature wouldn’t grant her this beauty every year.
The king’s answer became legend: he commanded the mountains framing their view to be planted with almond trees. Each spring, their white blossoms would blanket the hills like permanent snow—a living testament to his devotion that turned botany into poetry.
